The Daora Residential District had no church to fulfill the spiritual needs of its inhabitants, so the Catholic and Orthodox community there commissioned the office to design and construct a medium size church at a plot they were donated.

As the Catholic community usually comes from the north of Iraq, the style of the building and its outlook was part of the main idea representing the vernacular architecture of the area they came from.
